INSTRUCTIONAL FOCI

  1. Instruction: The implementation of culturally responsive instructional practices grounded in qualitative and quantitative data that encourages student agency through voice and choice while providing access to grade level texts and standards aligned curriculum.
  2. Social Emotional Learning: Fostering an environment that cultivates trusting and meaningful relationships among all PS 48 stakeholders (students, staff, and families) in order to support the whole child that encourages agency.
  3. Collaborative Teams: Amplifying the voices of teachers, paraprofessionals, staff, students, and families to ensure collective decision making, build leadership capacity, and continue to learn from one another across multiple teams.
  4. Family Engagement: Creating an environment that embraces all cultures, ethnic backgrounds, and languages, where families are supported so they may express their needs and be involved in collaborative decision making.
